Sealing against water and rodents in a conical U-shaped concrete channel

Cable entries with split flange

Sealing against water and rodents in a conical U-shaped concrete channel
Einsiedeln

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL

"We had suffered repeated operational interruptions caused by rodents at the Gaswe rkstrasse relay station of Einsiedeln railway station. Hauff-Technik offered us the option of permanently sealing the relay station and rendering it rodent proof using flanges and press seals. This needed to be done without removing the cables, i.e. without affecting the rail traffic. The ins tallation was planned and carried out by Hauff-Technik Swiss AG.“

Christoph Grab

Preparation of the flange for installation in the channel.
In a first step, the cables for the individual entries are pre-sorted so that the cables can be inserted smoothly during routing and no ob lique tensile loads are able to act on the seals.
To prevent having to remove and subsequent re-insert the cables, a 3-part flange was used. To ensure a precise fit, the dimensions of U-sh aped channel were measured out at the installation location, including its conicity, radii and height.
Following installation of the flange and sorting of the cables, the rubber press seals for the individual sockets were ordered. An effecti ve cable assignment and any additional cables still to be laid were taken into account.
The split design of the flange and seals made conversion of the cable entry possible without interrupting or affecting the rail traffic.&a mp;nbsp;
