Fire protection

The HSS fire barrier impresses by being highly flexible in planning and execution. It is also easy to retrofit and takes minimum effort to install. As well as meeting the requirements of fire resistance class S90 to DIN 4102-9, when combined with the HSI150 system seal or HRD press seal, the fire barrier is absolutely gastight and watertight. It is installed in HSI150 wall inserts or wall sleeves (included at planning stage) or in retrofitted core drills.

Our kits are designed for various application areas, emphasizing the diverse options available for fire stops.

Fire Protection Kits for Various Cable Entries and Application Scenarios

Multiple options exist for implementing building and cable entries, and Hauff-Technik provides tailored fire protection solutions for each type of entry. Typically, a fire protection kit consists of several flexible fire protection pillows, differing in size. Hauff-Technik kits include up to ten pillows across four distinct variants, ensuring optimal sealing for pipes and building entries, regardless of the number of cables being routed. Only the necessary pillows are utilized for effective sealing.

The Fire Protection Kit S90 exemplifies this concept. Specifically designed for fire protection in core drillings and conduit pipes, it excels in wall entries and all types of cable conduits. The kit is suitable for core drillings with diameters ranging from 70 to 300 mm, ensuring fire protection for empty, fully filled, or partially filled core drillings. The resulting fire stop is gas- and water-tight, forming fire protection barriers for core drillings and conduit pipes with a minimum thickness of 280 mm and compatible with walls having a thickness of at least 150 mm.

The Fire Protection Kit S90 works with HSI150 system covers to implement fire safety for building entries. Main supply lines are routed into buildings through system covers in conjunction with cable protection pipes. These kits allow for installation from one side, which is particularly beneficial for retrofits since the exterior is typically underground and inaccessible. This method achieves a minimum stop thickness of 440 mm, with wall thicknesses of at least 240 mm required for compatibility.

Additionally, fire protection kits can safeguard ring space seals, as they are compatible with various Hauff-Technik ring space seals like HRD150 or HRD160. The pillows are installed between the supply line and the ring space seal, achieving a minimum stop thickness of 280 mm, with the kits suitable for wall thicknesses starting from 150 mm.

All these solutions can be utilized with any type of media line, including water pipes and telecommunications cables. The use of fire protection kits with electrical lines is also possible. Furthermore, these kits are approved for all wall types. The installation is straightforward, requiring no additional wall structures. When using a system cover, the pillows are placed around the supply lines and then pushed into the cover, secured with stainless steel bands.

Thus, no special tools are needed for installing a fire protection kit. The entire installation process can be completed within minutes, and pillow installation can occur at any time, either during construction or later. Additionally, all fire protection pillows are weather-resistant, which is especially important for installations in ground areas.

Every one of our fire protection kits meets the requirements of the fire resistance class S90, indicating that they can endure flames for at least 90 minutes. As a result, these fire stops comply with the standards outlined in DIN 4102-9, which specifies the fire behavior of building materials and elements like cable seals. Additionally, the fire protection kits have received general building authority certification from the body responsible for the approval of construction products and types. With these installations, you can be confident that you are fulfilling all necessary fire safety regulations.
